INTERFACE CONSULTING
Data connections from and to SAP
The IT landscapes of companies are typically heterogeneous. The ERP system usually serves as the core system from which data is distributed to peripheral systems and also exchanges data with external systems and partners.
Electronic data exchange through interfaces enhances efficiency, data security, data integrity, and eliminates media disruptions.
Interfaces can operate in a unidirectional manner (e.g., distribution of master data) or bidirectional manner (e.g., order dispatch and confirmation). Interfaces can also handle complex processes across different systems. They can provide or receive data for production processes. All interfaces share a common requirement: the sender and receiver must agree on a common format, the interface definition. When using integration platforms (middleware) between the actual sender and receiver, they must also establish communication with the middleware platform.
"Simplicity is the highest form of sophistication."
